Washington Capitol Campus Visitor InformationVisitors are invited year-round to enjoy the beauty of more than 30 landscaped acres with seasonal floral displays surrounding our Washington state Capitol. Washington State Capitol ToursLegislative Building -- The Legislative building is currently closed for renovation and will reopen in November 2004. Tours are being offered of the Temple of Justice and the Campus grounds and memorials. For additional information about the $100 million Legislative Building Renovation, please visit the Capitol Building Renovation web site. Tours of the Capitol Campus are available seven days a week, every hour on the hour from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Tours last 45 minutes and are free to the public. For teachers and schools who wish to visit the Capitol during the renovation period, a wide range of tour options are available. Please call 360-586-8687 for additional information or e-mail us at tours@leg.wa.gov. Executive Mansion--Tours of the Governor's Mansion will not be available until December of 2004. Capitol Conservatory--Constructed by the Work Projects Administration in 1939, this greenhouse contains tropical plants and produces bedding plants for the Capitol Campus. Open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Call 586-TOUR for summer hours. Old Capitol Building--Constructed in 1892, this downtown Olympia building served as the Capitol from 1901 until 1928. Self-guided tours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Group tours may be arranged through the State Capitol Tour Office. Temple of Justice--Completed in 1920, the Temple houses the Washington State Supreme Court and the State Law Library. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
